ON STAGE

Trevor Griffiths' seminal play 'Oi FOr England' was

transmitted on Central Television

in April 1982.

This film takes us back particularly to the tour which preceded the Sloane Square run.

first performed on stage at the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs on 9 June 1982, directed by Antonia Bird.

"This play was probably the most exciting and relevant bit of political theatre that I have ever been involved with."

Andy Roberts

Musical Director

The play first toured youth clubs and community centres

across London in a bid to engage young people in the social

and political issues of the day and to unite them against racism

and fascism.
